As one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Bordeaux is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with more than 350 listed monuments and buildings. Of course there is also plenty to do outside of Bordeaux. At just over an hour's drive you are on the Atlantic coast and the Bassin d'Arcachon (a large bay) is definitely worth it. Near this bay you will also find the Dune du Pyla, the largest dune in Europe. It's nice to walk all the way up and don't forget to enjoy the view.
