Camping Hafnersee

On the lake, besides swimming of course, you can do various water sports such as pedal boats, supping and canoeing (motor boats are not allowed). Canoes can be rented on site and fishing licenses can be purchased if you like to cast a rod. Dogs are welcome and there is a special area for four-legged friends on the beach on the lakeshore.

No one has to be bored. That's already almost impossible in this beautiful area, but even if you were to stay at the campsite, there are various (sports) facilities, including miniature golf, table tennis, bike rental and beach volleyball. The camp reception will be happy to help you with hiking trails or an address for horseback riding in the area. At the Hafnersee there is a restaurant. For a supermarket, you will have to go to the small town 4 km away, but the campsite also has a vending machine with some small daily necessities.

When vacationing in this region, you will naturally take a day trip to the nearby city of Klagenfurt. Stroll through the historic city centre in this charming capital of Carinthië and admire the beautiful architecture and cosy squares. Visit the impressive Klagenfurt Cathedral or take a ride on the famous Lindwurm, the symbol of the city.

For nature lovers, a trip to the Nockberge is well worthwhile. This National Park is known for its stunning panoramic views and hiking trails suitable for the whole family. Explore the green alpine meadows, enjoy the fresh mountain air and discover the diverse flora and fauna. The Nockalmstraße, a scenic road through the park, offers numerous vantage points where you can stop to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Lovers of history and culture should not miss a visit to Hochosterwitz Castle. This medieval castle, situated on a cliff, offers not only impressive views of the surroundings but also a fascinating glimpse into the past. The castle has several museums where you can learn more about the history and legends that surround it.

For a fun and educational day out with the kids, a visit to the Minimundus is highly recommended. This miniature world in Klagenfurt shows famous buildings and monuments from all over the world in miniature, a kind of Madurodam.

Finally, for a day in the middle of nature, you can visit the nature park Dobratsch. In this park, there are many hiking trails, spectacular views and opportunities to spot wildlife.
